Ryan Gay joined the Ocean Chemistry and Ecosystems Division (OCED) at AOML as a CIMAS/MDC intern working in the 'omics group. Ryan is working with mentors Nicholas MacKnight and Stephanie Rosales to culture and quantify a putative probiotic bacteria and develop coral inoculation techniques. Ryan is also volunteering at the UM hatchery to gain experience in coral husbandry. He is our first intern from Broward College, where he is currently studying Environmental Science. He is an avid scuba diver and hopes to pursue a career in coral restoration!
